Stain/Finishes

Staining is not to be confused with the clear coats of finish that are applied to a floor to preserve it.

A stain is actually the coloring of your hardwood floors other than its natural true color or tone. This is a separate step that can be added to the refinishing process, Many home owners desire different wood coloration on their floors to complement their homes, such changes on regular oak floors for examples can be made to look more exotic.

Partially Sanded Floor

The beauty of staining is that the stain takes differently in the different grain of the wood leaving a wonderful look and feel. For example, staining an oak floor because of its grain structure will give a different look than other wood floors with tighter grain structures such as maple and birch.

Staining Techniques

Most importantly, we take an extra very important step in our sanding process when staining that many other companies avoid, and this is the use of our planetary sanding machine for the final sanding. This is a very expensive machine and the use of it involves a lot of extra work. Most other companies uses standard floor buffer to make this crucial step easier.

Sander Tool

The reason the use of this machine is so crucial is because in order to get the best most even stain job possible the floor must be sanded as closely to perfect as possible. In fact 99% of the final result as to do with the sanding process and this state of the art machine does just this.
